EPDM Rubber (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer)

EPDM Sheet Rubber

EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) is one of the most commonly used
elastomers for seals and gaskets because of its high resistance to weather, ozone
and UV rays. EPDM is most commonly used in applications where there is significant
environmental exposure such as in the automotive and marine industries. EPDM is also
good for chemical-based fluids such as anti-freeze, synthetic detergents, acetone, boric
acid, ethanol, formaldehyde, and silver nitrate. EPDM should not be used in petroleum based

Applications include gaskets, washers, weather-stripping, automotive, conveyor belting, hose, and electrical.

  • Excellent resistance to heat, ozone, and sunlight.
  • Very good flexibility at low temperatures.
  • Good resistance to alkalis, acids and oxygenated solvents.
  • Superior resistance to water and steam.
  • Excellent colour stability.
  • White food grade (FDA) available.
  • NSF / ANSI Standard 61 available for potable water applications
