Butyl Rubber (IRR)

sheet rubber roll economy neoprene

Butyl rubber (IIR) is an excellent choice for shock absorption and has low moisture and gas permeability. It has great resistance to heat, aging, weather, ozone, chemical attack,
abrasion and tearing conditions. It is resistant to phosphate ester-based hydraulic
fluids and has excellent electrical properties. Butyl is not suitable for petroleum-based
fluid applications.

Applications include seals, gaskets, hose, tire inner tubes and sportball bladders.

Features:

  • Outstanding impermeability to gases and vapor.
  • Good resistance to heat, oxygen, ozone, sunlight, alkalis, oxygenated solvents, water, and steam.
  • High energy absorption (damping).
  • Good hot tear strength.

Technical:

  • Duro: 60
  • Tensile: 750 psi
  • Elongation: 300%
  • Temperature: -30° to 230°F
  • Color: Black
