Steam Hose Series 536

250 PSI

steam hose

With a 10:1 safety factor, UIP’s Type 536 steam hose is designed for transferring steam for processing products and equipment cleaning. Our steam hose is constructed with an EPDM tube, wire braid reinforcement, and an EPDM cover providing external protection, resistance to high internal pressures, and helps eliminate static charges. This high quality hose is rated for up to 250 psi working pressure and is built for saturated and superheated steam services.

Pair your steam hose with our all-purpose ground joint fittings and interlocking clamps for those higher working pressures and increased hose coupling retention applications.  Our complete set consists of a male stem, wing nut, and female spud. For hose to hose applications, UIP recommends replacing the female spud with our double spud; male spuds can be used to simplify hose to rigid connections.

Although extreme pressures, temperatures, and stresses make eventual replacement inevitable, the life of your steam hose can be lengthened with proper care and periodic inspections. A leak proof seal occurs when the metal head of the stem makes contact with the polymer seal inside the spud. Worn out couplings can be dangerous, these assemblies should be periodically inspected and replaced as necessary.  Bolt on clamps should be re-torqued repeatedly and ground joint connections should be inspected for any steam damage. When inspecting your steam hose make sure to look for any cuts, cracks, kinks or frayed wires. Steam hose assemblies must only be used for steam and need to be static grounded. If a steam hose is used for anything else, it cannot be returned to steam service.
